Dak says he's reached out to OBJ: 'He knows how much I want him here'
Dak Prescott is the latest member of the Dallas Cowboys to put out feelers toward free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
The signal-caller revealed Tuesday that he's reached out to Beckham, who's been linked heavily to the Cowboys recently.
"He knows how much I want him here," Prescott said, according to The Athletic's Jon Machota. "I've definitely sent some messages. There's been a little back-and-forth. Just making sure he understands that we want him here."
Owner Jerry Jones confirmed Sunday that Beckham will visit the Cowboys following Thanksgiving. The wideout reportedly also has an upcoming meeting with the New York Giants.
Jones declined to discuss Tuesday whether there have been negotiations with the free agent, but he said he believes a potential addition like Beckham would be helpful for a 7-3 Cowboys squad.
"If you can improve this team right now and it's within reason, you should do it. And we have a chance," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan, per Machota.
Beckham, who suffered an ACL injury in February's Super Bowl, is reportedly expected to be ready for an on-field return by early December.
The Cowboys head into Week 12 trailing the 9-1 Philadelphia Eagles for the NFC East.
