Rodgers playing with broken thumb, hasn't considered surgery
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said Wednesday he's been playing with a broken right thumb since Week 5, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.
"I think I've had worse injuries that I've played with. Definitely a challenge, but the days off helped me feel better this week," said Rodgers, who added he hasn't considered undergoing surgery.
Rodgers injured his thumb on the last play of Green Bay's matchup with the New York Giants in London. Cameras have since shown Rodgers holding his thumb on multiple occasions during games this season, but he has yet to miss a game. He was a limited participant at practice Wednesday.
"It doesn't make a difference with me playing," the 38-year-old said, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "It doesn't make a difference. You saw the tape on my thumb. Didn't make a difference."
Rodgers, the reigning back-to-back MVP, has completed 64.6% of his passes through 11 appearances in 2022, down from 68.9% in 2021. He's passed for 19 touchdowns against seven interceptions, the most picks he's thrown in a season since 2016.
The Packers are coming off a loss to the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football, which dropped them to 4-7. Green Bay visits the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12.
