Smith-Schuster to play vs. Rams after missing Week 11; Toney out
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster will play Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, head coach Andy Reid announced Friday, according to ESPN's Adam Teicher.
Smith-Schuster missed the team's Week 11 win over the Los Angeles Chargers due to landing in the concussion protocol after taking a big hit in the previous game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The 26-year-old's return comes at a convenient time for a Chiefs receiving corps that will be without Kadarius Toney for Sunday's matchup due to a hamstring injury. They also lost Mecole Hardman to injured reserve last week.
Smith-Schuster trails only tight end Travis Kelce for the team leads in receptions (46) and receiving yards (615). The wideout has also found the end zone on two occasions.
The 8-2 Chiefs enter Week 12 averaging a league-high 30 points per game. The team has also won six of its last seven contests.
