Two people dead after a crash involving a transport truck in Mississauga

A fatal crash has left two people dead after a transport truck collided with an SUV on the Queen Elizabeth Way in Mississauga early Saturday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police said the incident happened shortly after 4 a.m. An SUV was struck by a truck while merging onto the QEW from Hurontario Street.

The female driver of the SUV and a male passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

Any one who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police.

The transport truck driver was not injured.

The eastbound QEW at Hurontario Street will remain closed until noon for the investigation and clean up. Delays are expected over the westbound.
