‘’Tis the season’: St. Joe’s to open new clinic for cold and flu season
A cold, flu and COVID clinic is set to open Nov. 29 at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton's West 5th Campus on the Mountain.
The by-appointment clinic aims to provide timely care" for adults and kids suffering from respiratory illnesses, while reducing the number of patients visiting emergency departments," reads a Nov. 28 hospital release.
'Tis the season for congestion, fever and sore throats," the release reads.
The clinic, a collaboration between St. Joe's, Hamilton Health Sciences and primary care doctors, is open to adults and kids whose symptoms don't improve within a few days with over-the-counter medication like Advil and Tylenol.
Cold and flu symptoms can last one to two weeks, the hospital says.
The clinic is located at the hospital's medical outpatient clinic at 100 West 5th St., and can be accessed via Fennell Avenue. It will be open Monday to Friday from 4:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Patients can book an appointment, which does not require a doctor's referral, online at stjoes.ca/flu-covid-cold-clinic. No walk-ins will be accepted at the clinic.
