Hundreds lose power in Hamilton’s east end amid high winds
by Spectator Staff from on (#66FCK)
Alectra Utilities is working to restore power to nearly 600 east end residents and warning strong winds could result in more outages.
The lights went out for about 570 customers between Gage Park and Kenilworth Avenue in the Delta neighbourhood around 9:30 a.m. The latest estimate for power restoration is 12:30 p.m.
Environment Canada earlier issued wind warnings for areas across southern Ontario that predicted wind gusts of up to 90 km/h in the wake of a strong cold front.
Alectra said those strong winds could result in more power outages.
