Halton Regional Police have laid stunt driving and other charges against a motorcycle rider allegedly going more than 130 km/h near a busy Oakville intersection Monday (Dec. 5).

The stop occurred in the area of Dundas Street and Third Line.

Const. Marc Taraso, who tweeted about the stop just after 4 p.m., alleges the bike was going as fast as 132 km/h "while zipping around cars between lanes" around the intersection.

"Managed to get them safely stopped at a red light near Bronte," Taraso said.

The motorcycle has been impounded and the rider's licence suspended as part of the stunt driving charge.

The incident captured the eye of many on social media, including @vivablissful, who called the incident a "recipe for disaster."
