Fallen tree in Burlington leaves close to 1,000 without power

Burlington Hydro is trying to restore power to nearly 1,000 customers after a fallen tree caused a power outage Thursday (Dec. 15).

The issue in the Brant Hills area, which occurred around 10:40 a.m. Thursday, likely arose from the strong winds and wicked weather hitting Halton region.

More than 900 customers are without power, Burlington Hydro reported.

Hydro officials say the unplanned outage was caused by a fallen tree.

"Crews are working to remove the tree and restore power," Burlington Hydro said in a tweet.
