Denver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett announced Friday that quarterback Russell Wilson was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, according to team reporter Aric DiLalla.

The veteran passer suffered a concussion during last week's 34-28 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Wilson has cleared concussion protocol, but Hackett said the organization decided to give him another week.

Brett Rypien is expected to start in Wilson's place. The 26-year-old completed 4 of 8 attempts for 16 yards, a touchdown, and a pick after replacing Wilson last week.

In Rypien's one other appearance this season, a spot start against the New York Jets in Week 7, he threw 46 times, completing 24 passes for 225 yards and an interception.

Wilson has completed 60.4% of his passes while throwing for 2,805 yards, 11 touchdowns, and six interceptions through his first 12 games with the Broncos.
