The Pittsburgh Steelers are planning for Kenny Pickett to start Saturday night's game against the Las Vegas Raiders, head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday, according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Pickett missed last week's contest due to being in the concussion protocol, which Tomlin said is now "behind" the signal-caller.

Mitch Trubisky started in Pickett's place during Sunday's victory over the Carolina Panthers. The veteran threw for 179 yards and added a rushing touchdown in the 24-16 win.

Selected in the first round of the 2022 draft, Pickett took over the starting job in Week 5. He's won four of his nine starts and thrown for four touchdowns to eight interceptions. He also has three rushing touchdowns.

Both the Steelers and Raiders head into Saturday's clash fighting to stay alive in the AFC playoff picture. They own identical 6-8 records.
