A Victorian Christmas comes to Dundurn Castle
by John Rennison - Photojournalist from on (#671TQ)
It's a Victorian Christmas at Dundurn Castle.
The former home of Sir Allan MacNab, the 19th century politician, businessman and land speculator, and his family has been decorated for the holidays just as it would have been back in 1855.
That includes cedar garlands in the drawing room, a dining room set for a Christmas feast and a charming tree surrounded by toys from the era.
The 40-room, York Boulevard villa is open for guided tours from noon to 4 p.m. throughout the holiday season, with the exception of Mondays, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
