Andrew 'bunnie' Huang writes about his workwith Cramium to bring more openness to secure elementchips:

In my view it's better to compromise and have a seat at the tablenow, than to walk away from negotiations and simply cede greenfields to proprietary technologies, hoping to retake lost groundonly after the community has achieved consensus around a robustfull-stack open source SE solution. So, instead of investing timearguing over politics before any work is done, I'm choosing toinvest time building validation test suites. Once I have a solidsuite of tests in hand, I'll have a much stronger position to arguefor the removal of any proprietary CPU cores.
