Halton Regional Police have provided a significant update into the large police presence in an Oakville neighbourhood that prompted a lengthy road closure.
Officers were called to the area of Bronte Road and Rebecca Street around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 27) to investigate the report of a man found deceased "on the ice" at the centre of the creek under the bridge on Rebecca Street, according to Const. Ryan Anderson.
"Police are investigating, however it has not been deemed suspicious and police are not searching for any suspects at this time," Anderson said.
No charges have been laid.
The incident caused a lengthy road closure on Rebecca Street between Bronte Road and Mississaga Street for a portion of the morning.
