Sources: Texans' HC interview requests include 49ers' Ryans, Eagles' Gannon
The Houston Texans have begun the search for their next head coach.
Houston has requested permission to interview Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon and offensive coordinator Shane Steichen, as well as San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans, sources told Jordan Schultz, theScore's NFL insider.

The Texans - who fired coach Lovie Smith after one season on Sunday - have also asked for permission to speak to Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, report Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Ryans has generated interest from multiple teams around the NFL after helping the 49ers finish the regular season with football's top-ranked defense. The Broncos have also requested permission to interview him.
Johnson is an emerging assistant who enjoyed an impressive 2022 campaign. With him on the sideline, the Lions' offense - led by quarterback Jared Goff - ranked fifth in points and third in yards.
Gannon and Steichen are both on the radar thanks to Philly's impressive regular season. The Eagles - one of the league's most balanced teams - put up a strong campaign on both sides of the ball en route to finishing the season with a 14-3 record, good for the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
The Texans' last two head coaches - David Culley and Smith - were fired after just one season at the helm. Houston owns two top-12 picks in the 2023 NFL Draft, including the second overall selection.
