Pedestrian transported to hospital with serious injuries after west Hamilton Mountain crash

Hamilton police say a pedestrian has been transported to hospital with serious injuries after they were struck by a vehicle on the west Mountain on Monday afternoon.
Supt. Dave Thompson of the Hamilton Paramedic Service told The Spectator that a man, believed to be in his 70s, was transported to a local trauma centre in serious, but stable condition."
West 5th Street was initially closed north of Fennell Avenue West, near Mohawk College and the West 5th Campus of St. Joseph's Healthcare.
The street reopened Monday night but the collision remains under investigation.
