Butter Tarts festival coming to Oakville Feb. 4
Residents are invited to attend the Sweet Sensation, Butter Tarts and More Market at Oakville Place Mall on Saturday, Feb. 4.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Organizers say the top bakeries from across the GTA will be there to tantalize tastebuds with Canadian gotluvbuttertarts, sweet treats, biscotti, sumptuous cannoli and more.
To aficionados, the smallest differences are a big deal," said one organizer.
Purists say true butter tarts should not contain raisins or nuts. Some like runny fillings, some firm. Some like thick pastry shells while others like thin so the filling stars. Some prefer flaky pastry or even phyllo shells while others don't want crumbs falling on their clothes."
Residents can also expect unique flavours, like peanut butter and chocolate chip, Nutella, lemon, Nanaimo, salted caramel, toffee, M&Ms, blueberry cheesecake, Turtles, caramel glazed walnut, coconut, maple bacon, raspberry coconut and more.
Featured bakeries include: Omi's Sweet n Treats, Sweet Oven Niagara, Ten of Tarts, Bruno's Bakery and Cafe, Molly B's Gluten Free, Carla's Cookie Box, Nora Bakery, Ace of Tarts, Holy Cannoli Toronto, Capital B Cafe, Grandmas Beach Treats, Something Sweet by Sarah, Marty G Sensations, Esther Goulds Finest and Cinnaholic Oakville.
Oakville Place Mall is located at 240 Leighland Ave.
