New Tennessee Titans general manager Ran Carthon isn't quite ready to share his assessment of starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill's future.

"I don't think that's fair at this point," Carthon said Friday, according to ESPN's Turron Davenport. "We're still evaluating the roster. Ryan has been great here. He's won a lot of football games. I look forward to us winning football games. But I still need more time to evaluate and make those decisions."

"(Head coach Mike Vrabel) and I will confer, and we'll figure it out," he added.

Tannehill passed for 2,536 yards, 13 touchdowns, and six interceptions this past season, recording a 65.2% completion rate. Tennessee boasted a 6-6 record with him as a starter but went 1-4 when he was sidelined with a season-ending ankle injury.

Since joining the franchise in 2019, Tannehill has provided a steady hand for the offense. He posted a 36-19 record as a starter over four seasons and led the Titans to postseason appearances from 2019-21.

The 2019 Pro Bowl passer will carry a $36.6-million cap hit next season. Tennessee could save $27 million by moving on from the veteran signal-caller after June, according to OverTheCap.

Vrabel said during his season-ending press conference that Tannehill would remain the team's starting quarterback "if he is healthy."

Tannehill, 34, said he's confident he has "plenty of football" left in him.
