Chiefs edge Bengals to earn 3rd Super Bowl berth in last 4 years
The Kansas City Chiefs earned their third Super Bowl appearance in the last four seasons with a field goal in the final seconds of the AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
The Bengals had a chance to drive down the field for their own field-goal attempt in the dying moments, but Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones came up with a clutch third-down sack on Joe Burrow to get the ball back.
Kansas City's Harrison Butker then kicked a 45-yarder after referees called a crucial unnecessary roughness penalty on the Bengals for a late hit on a scrambling Mahomes.
The Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles - who beat the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC title game - in Arizona on Feb. 12.
More to come.
