Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Calvin Ridley is applying for reinstatement Wednesday, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The NFL suspended Ridley indefinitely for betting on league games in 2021 while a member of the Atlanta Falcons, and he sat out the 2022 season. Feb. 15 is the first day the 28-year-old can apply for reinstatement.

The Falcons traded him to the Jaguars in November for conditional draft picks. The maximum compensation for Atlanta is a 2023 fifth-round pick and a 2024 second-round selection.

The Falcons will reportedly receive a 2023 fifth-round pick if Ridley is reinstated by an unspecified date. If he doesn't, it'll become a sixth-rounder. Additionally, if Ridley makes the team in 2024, Atlanta will get at least a fourth-round selection from Jacksonville. That pick will become a third-rounder if the wideout hits a play-time milestone or a second-round choice if the Jaguars sign him to a long-term extension.

Ridley's return would add another explosive weapon to an emerging Jacksonville offense. Led by star quarterback Trevor Lawrence this past season, the Jaguars reached the divisional round in their first playoff appearance since 2017. Christian Kirk topped the club with 133 targets, 84 receptions, 1,108 yards, and eight touchdown catches.

Ridley, the 26th overall pick in 2018, earned a second-team All-Pro nod in 2020 after catching 90 passes for 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns through 15 games.

He made only five appearances in 2021, finishing the year with 31 receptions, 281 yards, and two scores.
