Free Try Lacrosse'Hamilton Lacrosse Association is running another free Try Lacrosse" event for boys and girls ages three and up on Saturday. HLA alumni will answer parent questions regarding equipment etc., and give new players a tip or two. All participants must have a caged helmet. If you have gloves, bring them along. Coldest NightThe 10th annual Coldest Night of the Year family-friendly walks to raise money for local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness are Saturday.
Walks around the Hamilton area include: Hamilton City Centre, 80 Bay St. N.; Hamilton Barton, 53 Birch Ave. (Powell Park); Waterdown, 200 Hamilton St. N.; Hamilton Mountain, 625 Concession St.; and Burlington, 662 Guelph Line.

Ancaster home showGet your style on this weekend at the Ancaster Lifestyle Spring Home Show. The show returns for its 41st instalment Friday to Sunday at the Ancaster Fairgrounds, 630 Trinity Rd. S. Show hours are Friday from 3 to 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door and parking is free.

Jewish Film FestivalThe 2023 Hamilton Jewish Film Festival begins Sunday and runs until Tuesday at The Westdale, 1014 King St. W. Thought-provoking feature films and documentaries engage the broadest spectrum of the Jewish community and provide an opportunity for the greater Hamilton community to learn about Jewish culture, Israel and Jewish history.

Jump aroundThe Ontario Rope Skipping Organization local jump rope open competition is Saturday and Sunday at Saltfleet District High School, 108 Highland Rd. W., Stoney Creek.
