A quarter of British people say they are struggling financially, up from a fifth a year ago, as grocery price inflation hits the highest level on record at 17.1%.
Households who have not changed their shopping habits are spending 811 a year more on grocery bills than 12 months ago, according to the latest figures from the market research firm Kantar, which said it was a year since grocery inflation had topped 4%.
