Hamilton police seize loaded gun and $450,000 in drugs
Hamilton police have charged two people with multiple drug and weapons offences connected to an alleged drug trafficking ring police say was distributing fentanyl and cocaine throughout the city.
The investigation by the major drug unit led police to search one residence and two vehicles on Friday, March 3, shortly after 5 a.m.
Police said they seized $450,000 worth of drugs, including four ounces of suspected high concentrated fentanyl" and five ounces of crack cocaine, a fully-loaded Glock handgun, five high-capacity, extended magazines and dozens of rounds of 9 mm ammunition.
Police also seized other items, including a Mercedes vehicle, mobile devices, drug equipment, such as scales and cutting agents, and between $35,000 and $50,000 in cash.
A 27-year-old from Hamilton and a 47-year-old from Grimsby face multiple drug and gun charges.
