Hamilton police have renewed their call for information on the whereabouts of a man wanted in connection with the shooting death of mobster Angelo Musitano.

In a media release Tuesday, police said they're still seeking help from the public on finding and arresting Daniel Tomassetti, who was allegedly involved in the 2017 murders of both Musitano and Mila Barberi.

Barberi was shot dead in Vaughan on March 14, 2017 while standing by her vehicle in the parking lot of Teknika Lighting. Her boyfriend Saverio Serrano, who was also shot but survived, is believed to have been the intended target.

Musitano, 39, was gunned down in his Waterdown driveway on May 2, 2017 in what's believed to be part of an organized crime power struggle.

He was the younger brother of Pasquale (Pat) Musitano, the reputed local Mafia boss who was later shot and killed in a Burlington parking lot in July 2020.

Tomassetti was originally one of three men wanted in connection to the murders of Musitano and Barberi. It's believed he fled to Cancun, Mexico, with alleged accomplice Michael Cudmore.

Jabril Abdalla, who was charged with first-degree murder in both cases as well as attempted murder for Serrano, had his charges withdrawn in June 2021 after he pleaded guilty to participating in a criminal organization.

Cudmore was wanted for first-degree murder in both cases as well as attempted murder for Serrano - however, his body was found in a burnt out car in Mexico in June 2020. His death was later deemed a homicide.

According to an Interpol notice, Tomassetti is wanted on two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder and three counts of conspiracy to commit murder.

Photos attached to the notice show Tomassetti on a standing on boat as well as lounging on what appears to be a beach. It's unclear when and where the photos were taken.

The renewed call for information comes nearly six years after Barberi and Musitano were killed, however the $50,000 reward - which called for information on all three men - was first offered up by Hamilton police in November 2018.

It's unclear if anything has changed in the investigation or with respect to Tomassetti's believed whereabouts. The Spectator has reached out to Hamilton police for more information.

In a separate press release, York Regional Police said Tomassetti is being urged to consult with a lawyer and turn himself in." The police agency is also involved in the search but is not connected to the reward.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Det. Nesreen Shawihat at 905-546-4863 or the York Regional Police Homicide Unit at 905-830-0303 ext. 7865.
