Driver in Norfolk crash dead after ‘colliding with a tree’
Norfolk OPP are investigating a fatal crash near Simcoe early Saturday morning.
OPP say emergency services responded to the single-vehicle crash on Charlotteville Road 10, which runs from Highway 3 to Yuell Road, at around 5:30 a.m. on March 18.
A vehicle was travelling along Charlotteville Road 10 when the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree," OPP said in a release.
The driver had life-threatening injuries, and was pronounced dead on scene, police say. The driver's identity has not been released as police are working to notify next of kin.
Charlotteville Road 10 is closed between Highway 3 and East Quarter Line Road, and is expected to remain closed into the afternoon as police investigate.
Police are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dash cam or surveillance footage.
