A popular pizza spot on the Hamilton Mountain has opened a second location in the city's downtown.

And now, you can dine-in as you get your fill of za.

Cowabunga Plus is the second iteration of Cowabunga Pizzeria, a takeaway pizza joint on Upper Wellington Street that opened in late 2020.

However, the new Vine Street eatery comes with an expanded menu, featuring their staple pizzas as well as appetizers such as garlic knots, fries, salads and sliders.

They're also serving up bunga bites," which are described as boneless chicken bites that come with different sauces and toppings.

Cowabunga has risen to acclaim in Hamilton's foodie community, with some of their pizza makers even competing in the International Pizza Expo and Conference last March.

Those on staff at the eatery have previously worked at other restaurants across the city, including MaiPai, Shorty's, CIMA Enoteca, Aberdeen Tavern and Quatrefoil.

The new restaurant, which has taken over the spot left empty by Nique at 30 Vine St., opened March 16. It is open Thursday to Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.
