Pedestrian killed by GO train in Hamilton
Hamilton police are investigating after a man was killed when he was struck by a GO train Monday.
Emergency services were called to the train tracks near Main Street West and Dundurn Street South, east of Highway 403, shortly before 5 p.m., said Const. Indy Bharaj.
A 37-year-old man was killed, he said. Next of kin have been notified.
Hamilton police said the incident is not suspicious. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances.
GO Transit said trains travelling into Hamilton GO Centre were affected for several hours Monday evening, with trains stopping at Aldershot GO and shuttle service transporting travellers to Hamilton. Trains to West Harbour GO were not affected. The tracks were cleared and train service was restored around 8 p.m.
