'Family have been notified': Pedestrian hit by truck on QEW in Burlington and suffers serious injuries, triggering road closure
A man was seriously injured after he was struck by a person driving a transport truck on Burlington Skyway shortly before midnight Tuesday on April 4.
The incident took place at around 11 p.m. in the Toronto-bound lanes on the QEW over the Burlington Skyway, according to OPP.
In a video posted to Twitter, OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said that the transport truck driver remained on scene and co-operated with Burlington OPP investigators.
The person that was struck has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and the family have been notified," he said.
OPP said the 28-year-old man was reported to be in distress" prior to the collision.
The area was briefly closed for police investigation and had since been reopened.
