Hamilton police have arrested a 32-year-old Kitchener man in connection to several human-trafficking offences.

Police said in a release Wednesday they launched an investigation into the man this week. They didn't say what prompted the probe or what investigators found.

The man has been charged with more than a dozen criminal offences, including trafficking persons, aggravated sexual assault, forcible confinement, advertising sexual services, possession of a prohibited firearm and uttering threat to cause death or harm, among others.

Police are withholding the man's name to protect the identity of victims.

Anyone who is a victim of human trafficking or knows someone who may be is asked to call police at 905-546-4925.

To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or crimestoppershamilton.com.
