Senior injured in Mountain crash that saw cab flip over
One woman was taken to hospital Thursday after a multi-vehicle collision on the Hamilton Mountain ended with a cab flipped on its roof.
Police were called to the crash in the area of Garth Street and Fennell Avenue West just before 4 p.m.
Const. Indy Bharaj said a taxi was travelling north on Garth when another car in front of it abruptly changed lanes, resulting in a collision that flung the cab over a sidewalk and onto its roof. The impact from the crash also caused a third vehicle to be hit, he added.
A senior who was travelling in the taxi was taken to hospital with minor injuries, Bharaj said. No one else was hurt.
Police briefly shuttered the north lanes on Garth between Fennell and Bendamere Avenue as officers probed the crash. They also closed the south lanes of Garth between Fennell and Denlow Avenue to tow the taxi.
