Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury is joining USC as a senior offensive analyst, the school announced Tuesday.

The Cardinals parted ways with Kingsbury in January after four seasons, including a 4-13 record in 2022.

USC hired Kingsbury as the program's offensive coordinator in December 2018, but he resigned after a month following interest from NFL teams. The Trojans replaced Kingsbury with Graham Harrell.

Kingsbury served as head coach of Texas Tech, his alma mater, from 2013-18, compiling a 35-40 record and a 1-2 mark in bowl games.

The Texas native struggled to find success on the NFL sideline. Kingsbury posted a .500 record in his second season in Arizona after going 5-10-1 in 2019 to begin his pro coaching career. The club appeared to turn the corner in 2021, finishing the regular season with 11 victories and earning a playoff berth.

However, the Cardinals stopped trending upward, missing the postseason in 2022 following a season-ending injury to quarterback Kyler Murray. Kingsbury's tenure in Arizona concluded with a 28-37-1 overall record. He reportedly interviewed in February for the Houston Texans' offensive coordinator position under new coach DeMeco Ryans.

Led by reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams, USC boasts one of the most talented quarterback depth charts in the country.
