Billionaire Jeff Bezos won't attempt to purchase the Washington Commanders, a source told ESPN's John Keim.

Bezos, the founder of Amazon, reportedly hired investment firm Allen & Co. to evaluate a potential bid for the Commanders.

A source close to Bezos indicated in March that current team owners Dan and Tanya Snyder were blocking him from bidding, although multiple sources close to the Snyders apparently denied the allegations.

Bezos, who has a net worth of $125 billion, is the owner of the Washington Post, which has published several investigative stories over the past few years regarding Dan Snyder's tenure with the franchise.

Two groups have reportedly formally submitted bids of around $6 billion for the Commanders. The first includes Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils owner Josh Harris, Mitchell Rales, and former NBA star Earvin "Magic" Johnson. The other is led by Canadian billionaire Steve Apostolopoulos.
