Report: Steelers acquire Allen Robinson from Rams
The Pittsburgh Steelers acquired wide receiver Allen Robinson in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams, sources told Dianna Russini of ESPN.
The Steelers will swap 2023 seventh-round picks with the Rams, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Los Angeles will also cover $10.25 million of Robinson's 2023 salary while Pittsburgh will be on the hook for $5 million.
Robinson suited up for just 10 games in 2022 - his first year with the Rams - after a foot injury prematurely ended his season. The team reportedly gave him permission to seek a trade.
The 29-year-old wideout caught 33 passes for 339 yards with the Rams. Both marks were career lows aside from his 2017 campaign, in which he only played one game.
The Rams signed Robinson to a three-year, $46.5-million deal in free agency last offseason. His exit is the latest veteran departure as Los Angeles attempts to start fresh after a 5-12 showing.
A second-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2014, Robinson is joining his fourth NFL team in Pittsburgh. He's earned one Pro Bowl nod and accumulated three 1,000-plus-yard campaigns over his career.
Robinson brings a veteran presence to a Steelers receiver corps that features Diontae Johnson, George Pickens, and Calvin Austin.
