Polishing compound in gun and racking slide?

I posted my Beretta Bobcat earlier and am thinking about polishing the areas that make contact so it's a little more smooth. Some I can hit with a dremel with a fabric wheel, but some I can't. Could I put some compound in there and rack the slide a bunch or is that a bad idea? Obviously clean and lube it before shooting
