Looking for Help/Insight into Christensen Arms 1911 Pistols

I saw a Christensen Arms 1911 in a LGS and don't know anything about the company. I checked their website and did a little bit of searching to see what I could find out. Looks like they are known for their long guns and they stopped making 1911s. From what I read their 1911s are solid and use to sell in for $1,200 and up. Looking for anyone with first hand knowledge. The one I found is $1,195.

This being my first 1911, I would love to score a great LGS find, as this pistol is beautiful but.... I don't want to pay 1k for a lightly used gun that is know to be a POS, I would rather go back to looking at the S&W I was originally thinking about.
