Under 21 delayed background check.

I'm 19 years old I've been shooting/ on 4h teams my whole life but have never personally purchased a firearm, friday april 21st I completed and sent my background check, I've already spent the $450 on the rifle but I'm still waiting to see if the atf says I can even own the thing, does anyone have any feedback about how long your background check took if you are also under 21? Ffl said mandatory delay since I'm under 21 but I'm just trying to to get a ball park idea. What happens with my money if they for some reason deny me?
