Fatal motorcycle crash closes section of Highway 401 in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE - A 55-year-old man from Barrie has died in a crash on Monday morning that closed a section of Highway 401 in Cambridge.
At around 7:45 a.m., emergency responders were called about the collision near Homer Watson Boulevard.
Members of the Ontario Provincial Police closed the westbound lanes of the 401 between Highway 8 and Homer Watson after the crash. Police say the man was driving a motorcycle but lost control.
For hours after the crash, all westbound traffic was diverted at Highway 8. Eastbound lanes were not affected, but may have been slower due to the distraction.
