HiNOTE, a newly launched application to generate text messages, has recently created headlines with its distinctiveness.

Backed by Peter Theil and Marissa Mayer, this application aims to help people create messages and set over customized backdrops of literally anything.'

The CEO and co-founder of HiNOTE, Traina, says that text messages deserve to be diverse and attractive. When people won't wear the same dress every day, why should text messages look monotonous? She believes that people are always searching for new ways to connect and present themselves. Even professional communications require a certain level of representation and polish. HiNOTE aims to serve this purpose.

1 Million+ Shares

The application officially hit the market in 2022, and until now, approximately 1 million HiNOTEs' has been shared by users. They include more than 2000 distinctive notes with unique personalization. The creators of HiNOTE are also trying to enhance brand and creator collaborations in unique ways.

For instance, they may launch text messages aligned with the aesthetic of the users' favorite influencer. The company has already carried out 20 such deals.

According to Traina, women between 25-65 years of age are more inclined to these messages.

She also pointed out the common characteristics of the frequent adapters of the service. For instance, they forward around 15 greeting cards every year. Besides, most of them use paid versions of Canva and prefer paperless posts and invitations over minted holiday cards.

When it comes to text messages, self-expression always stands as a static bet, which also applies to digital communication. The trend is historic - emojis came out in the late 1990s. Even after three long decades, they haven't lost their popularity and usability. A few years back, memes whipped up, and they are still an exciting way to share thoughts.

The New-Age Canva' For Mobile

Triana carries an Indian-American origin, and from this perspective, she claims that it is pretty common to express one's feelings through text messages - they work almost like a collage of a million photographs of special moments.

The text message verse has always been evolving. Previously, bubble-based texts used to rule. With changing demands, Canva stepped in and became a valuable tool for maintaining business communications. Its simplified approach fueled its popularity.

Indeed, the app doesn't require as much buy-in as Canva. In fact, it's free as of now.

However, Triana figured out a loophole. She noticed that it's a desktop-only application, and users may need to pass multiple trials to get their product to work. So, she tried coming up with something mobile-centric and easy-to-use. She says that she wanted to make a go-to alternative for everyday communicators. Thus, HiNOTE emerged.

Users just need to create an account, and they can start with customized notes. They can edit notes and share them as text with a single click.

Triana also highlighted a bunch of use cases that relate to HiNOTE. For instance, one can use it to ask someone for a quick call through appealing images. It can even draft individualized sign-offs, special day messages, and so on. The application seems to mimic the excitement of good memes.

While the app is still on its way to finding a perfect product-market fit, it seemingly resonates with its users and - investors. The startup has recently bagged an investment of $1.9 million from giant angel investors like Marissa Mayer, Peter Theil, Sarah Kunst, and Dick Costolo.

Marissa Mayer has compared HiNOTE to her other angel investments like Uber, Figma, Square, etc. While HiNOTE is still in its preseed rounds, the zeal and innovation of the team are likely to bring promising results in the future.
