Knife allegedly pulled on victim who knocked on wrong apartment door in Oakville
A 33-year-old man has been arrested after a simple mistake led to a terrifying encounter in Oakville on Friday, May 5.
At around 8:30 p.m., the victim attended a condo complex on Speers Road, near Kerr Street, to visit a friend.
Police say the victim knocked on the wrong apartment door and was confronted by a man brandishing a knife.
It's alleged the suspect left his apartment and began forcefully pushing the victim toward the elevator while pointing the knife at him.
This was followed by a short struggle, after which the man let the victim go and returned to his apartment.
Halton police were called to the scene and made one arrest.
A 33-year-old Oakville man has been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
