Lilac blooms draw visitors to RBG
The powerful scent of lilacs in bloom is once again drawing visitors to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton.
Every May - often just in time for Mother's Day - visitors from across the area flock to the Arboretum's lilac dell to see, and smell, the Katie Osborne Lilac Collection, one of the largest and most diverse in the world.
Hundreds of plants, representing several hundred cultivars, bring the dell to life. Subtle shades of pink, purple and white paint the scene.
Visitors can be found snapping photos, sniffing blooms, or just relaxing in the expansive, quiet setting.
The Arboretum is open daily during bloom season from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
