Haldimand Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating after a targeted shooting at a home in Caledonia Tuesday morning.

In a video on Twitter, Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said at around 9 a.m. on May 16, officers were called to a weapons complaint at a home on Sixth Line in Caledonia.

Sanchuk said through their investigation, police discovered that during the early-morning hours, unknown suspects had discharged a firearm," with bullets hitting the home while the residents were sleeping inside.

A vehicle was also struck by gunfire, he added.

The great news out of this is that there were no injuries reported," said Sanchuk. Police believe the incident was targeted.

Investigators are asking residents in the surrounding area to come forward with any information or video surveillance that captured activity that might be related to the shooting.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

Those with information are asked to contact OPP by calling 1-888-310-1111. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
