Halton police have ‘identified an individual’ connected to the fetus found in an Oakville Park

Halton police have identified an individual" in connection to the investigation into a fetus being found at a local park.

This development was reported on Monday (May 29), following the May 19 discovery of the fetus at Oakdale Park, located in the area of McCraney Street W. and Roylen Road.

A pedestrian walking in the vicinity of Munn's Creek located the fetus near the water.

Police were unable to provide any information on the fetus' gender or how far along the pregnancy would have been.

The investigation continues by the Halton Police Homicide Unit. Anyone with information or video (including dash cam) of the area after May 18 at 7 p.m. is asked to contact the tip line at 905-825-4776.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or through the web at www.haltoncrimestoppers.ca.

Police said it is the mandate of the homicide unit to investigate all pediatric death occurrences.
