Looking for a big stage to show your work on?

The City of Burlington is looking for roughly 10 writers and 10 visual artists to submit their creations to be displayed on temporary signs along the Beachway's multi-use path during Culture Days. All art forms are acceptable, including visual art, graphic art, photography, poetry, short story and non-fiction.

Submissions are due July 14.

Angela Paparizo, manager of arts and culture, said that once the installation is up, everyone is invited to come check out the art.

I am so proud of our local artist and community groups who come together for Culture Days every year. They drive the success of Burlington Culture Days year after year. The Arts and Culture team has started planning this year's event and we are excited to invite local writers and artists to submit their work for the Beachway installation," said Paparizo.

Culture Days is an annual celebration of arts, culture and heritage across the province. Each year, organizers host programs throughout Ontario and invite the public to participate for free.

The artwork will be installed along the Beachway's multi-use path. The two-kilometre trail runs along Lake Ontario from Spencer Smith Park to the canal in Burlington.

Once selected, the completed artwork will go on display from Sept. 22 to Oct. 15.
