Which: firewalld or ufw or none?

KDE Plasma tells me to "Please install a firewall, such as ufw or firewalld"

I have two questions:
  1. Which should I choose, are there big drawbacks for one or the other?
  2. Why isn't there one installed by default, isn't this insecure?
