The Colorado Avalanche signed defenseman Jack Johnson to a one-year contract, the team announced Sunday.

The contract is worth the league minimum salary of $775,000, The Athletic's Peter Baugh reports.

Johnson won the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in 2022. The 36-year-old was re-acquired by Colorado in a deal with the Chicago Blackhawks prior to this season's trade deadline. He totaled two goals and eight points in 83 games in 2022-23.

In the postseason, Johnson played in three of the Avalanche's seven games against the Seattle Kraken. He averaged 13:54 and didn't record a point.

Johnson also suited up for the Los Angeles Kings, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Pittsburgh Penguins in his 1102-game career. He was selected 3rd overall in the 2005 draft by the Carolina Hurricanes.
