Having trouble installing MS .net framework in Linux Mint

I'm trying to install Adobe Digital Editions in Linux Mint Cinnamon v. 21.1, and it requires .Net Framework 4. I downloaded the .exe from MS, but it hangs indefinitely when attempting to install with Wine. Has anyone installed this successfully?
