I need help, i use linux moderately

okay, so im a little new, ive been using linux since i was about 16 years old... im now 25, been using off and on lmao..
im using parrot..
my question is... noramlly my terminal looks like this.
[issa@parrot][~]
$
but sometimes when i d stuff like try to install stuff it does this
[][issa@parrot][~]
$
WHAT DOES THE X MEAN??????
i eventually got paranoid and started to use lynis and rkchecker
but didnt find anything abnormal other than rk telling me processes were using deleted files... idk why procesess would be using old files but yeah...
what does the X mean?
it goes away when i cd.
