Wifi connected but no data coming through

Hi all, new here (probably obvious!)
As the title suggests, I have wifi connected but internet doesn't work. My system only has one ethernet connection which I need to use for setting up a Mesa card, but currently I can only connect to the internet via ethernet.
I'm running Debian 12, I've run the apt update and upgrade commands several times, have tried to fix kernel and dependency issues over the past week mostly unsuccessfully, iwd service status is listed as loaded/disabled/preset:enabled.
Not sure where to go from here and would really like some help, thanks!
