Gimp refuses to open large .svg file

Trying to open a fairly large .svg file (21.5 MB, 30652x25854 px) in Gimp, but Gimp crashes:

Code:Plug-in crashed: "file-svg"
(/usr/lib64/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/file-svg/file-svg)Smaller .svg files opens OK.

Possible solutions will be gratefully received.
