Failing to upgrade the kernel

I have always used huge, and therefore never bothered with initrd, until 15. since then, it seems mandatory.
My computer is of the EFI-kind.
Until now it worked fine with just running eliloconfig and then geninitrd. I have tried this a few times but no modules can be found.

Well, I did, and I am sorry. The reason is I don't know enough but to just follow slackpkg upgrade-all. About time to rectify that.
By the way, I am now testing in virtual machines as I don't want to reboot the host due to this issue.
How do I figure out which kernel it is that I'm using? Which file do I edit to add a new kernel?

So, I have tried using the mkinitrd script with 5.15.117. Still no joy. I tried rebooting with and without an initrd.

Remember that you cannot use an initial ramdisk in combination with a ihugei kernel, but you have to create a new initial ramdisk if you are going to use a generic kernel! |
