Report: Cardinals give Baker pay raise
The Arizona Cardinals gave safety Budda Baker a pay raise that includes $2.4 million in bonuses and incentives for the 2023 season, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Baker also received a $300,000 signing bonus and an unspecified raise for the 2024 season, Rapoport adds.
The five-time Pro Bowler had been in a standoff with the organization over his future. Baker reportedly asked the franchise to either trade him or make him the highest-paid safety earlier this offseason. He missed voluntary team activities but attended mandatory minicamp and training camp.
Baker has two seasons left on his deal but has no guaranteed salary remaining, per Over The Cap. He was scheduled to earn base salaries of $13.1 million and $14.2 million over the next two years.
The 27-year-old has been the cornerstone of Arizona's secondary since entering the league in 2017. He recorded multiple interceptions in each of the last three seasons.
